Is the family chat free?
Yes. FAM is free with every feature switched on, for everyone in your family. There is no subscription, no trial and no ads.
Who can read our messages?
Only the people in your Space. FAM is invite-only, and we do not sell data or show ads. Messages are encrypted on the way to our servers and while they are stored there.
Is it end-to-end encrypted like WhatsApp?
No. FAM keeps messages on its own servers, encrypted, so they can be reported and reviewed if something goes wrong. If you need end-to-end encryption, keep using an app that has it for those conversations.
Can I send photos in the chat?
Not yet. The chat is for text and emoji. Photos go in Memories, where they stay tied to the day they happened.
Can someone on an iPhone join?
Yes, in a browser. FAM is on Google Play today and the iPhone app is in the works. Anyone on an iPhone or a computer signs in at keepitclose.app and uses the same chat.
